A view from…. The House of Lords!!!

Well, here we are, it’s been a while since my last post, but it’s been a whirlwind of business, shipping, interviewing, meeting and greeting and general chaos… and that’s just work.

As always, hot on the trail of improvement and knowledge gathering, I find myself Googling such things as Knowledge Transfer Network, Lord Haskel and Black Rod Garden entrance because today I’m making a trip to The Smoke to visit the House of Lords. Lord Haskel has even requested the pleasure of my company!

I am, in equal measure, terrified and excited. A bit like I felt when I had my first interview with Graphitene back in October last year, I mean what did I know about Graphene the “next big thing”? Easy answer… nothing!

But, the Team at Graphitene made me tea, welcomed me in and made me comfortable. Then they worked with me, collaboratively, taught me without condescending, gave me some facts and helped me see the big picture… now I know; THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!

And we, like a small enthusiastic and tenacious terrier, are determined to turn it into “the next big thing”, but we accept that we can always learn, that a collaborative approach is by far the best way forward and as such I am looking forward to meeting Lord Haskel and the other attendees to discuss how we can drive this forward; the benefit in this is not just for us, but also the UK industrial and manufacturing landscape as a whole.
